Why Hygiene Products?
There are several factors that contribute to low access for basic hygiene products. These include the cost, lack of access or availability of products in organizations where people seek assistance, and the lack of coverage in government supplemental. Hygiene products such as soap, toothpaste, menstrual products and deodorant are not covered under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

!n the U.S., roughly 16.9 million women who menstruate are living in poverty, according to the Journal of Global Health Reports, and about two-thirds of them were unable to afford menstrual products in the past year.
